The impact of world economic crisis in recent years was really huge. Like the tsunami, the crisis engulfing the world in many sectors. World-class companies which already hundred years old went bankrupt. Many countries suffered from negative growth and recession.
However, we should be grateful that amid the crisis, Indonesia is able to record positive growth of 4.3% in the year 2009. This is making Indonesia the 3rd country with the largest economic growth in the world after China and India. We also should be grateful that GOD brought SUTINDO, not only able to survive during tough times, but we are also able to come out of the crisis and even achieving a relatively good performance.
This success is certainly not just coincidence, but it is the result of the hard work and commitment of all employees to contribute with the spirit of continual improvement.
For that, on behalf of SUTINDO management, and personally, I want to thank you for all the employees' support to this company.
Learning from all that had happened, I would like to invite all the employees, from top level to the bottom, to take a note on the following points which I abbreviating with CARE :
Culture. I hope that all SUTINDO Groups having the same working culture. If there is a good thing that is applied at one company, then other companies are expected to implement the same. In addition, let us remain committed to build a corporate culture based on values that we've agreed upon, namely VALUE. I hope VALUE is not just a mere slogan, but actually live and apply in our life, because all the major companies in the world can grow because of cultural development. Therefore, all of us, especially the leaders, have a responsibility to ensure that the cultural values of VALUE is really implemented.
Availability of Qualified Leaders. Every leader in SUTINDO group must prepare a minimum of two Direct Subordinates to become qualified leaders. Not preparing them to be just a leaders, but to prepare them to be a qualified leaders.
Relationship. Always build a harmonious relationships with customers and suppliers. In accordance with the vision that was launched, we will continue to develop a sales network throughout Indonesia, so we'll be more and more close with customers and suppliers.
Excellent in Operation. In order to enhance customer's satisfaction, we must perform an excellent operational sectors (especially in warehouse operational, purchasing, sales, finance, etc.). The leader must be able to know in detail, things that are within their scope of responsibilities. I also want to invite all of us to have a strong commitment in running and implementing a "World class" management systems, namely the Balanced Scorecard (BSC) and ISO 9001.
All the points above, I abbreviate with the word “CARE”, so that we keep developing a caring attitude, especially care for each tasks that are our responsibility.
Changes is something that we can not avoid. The business world is constantly changing. Sometimes the changing is very fast and suddenly. However, I believe that each changes always provides an opportunity for anyone who is ready to reach it. For that, let us always be ready, let us continue to learn and strained ourselves, let us continually improve ourselves, so when the opportunity is in front of us, then we are ready to seize it.
With the grace of God Almighty and Unyielding Spirit, I believe that SUTINDO will always be a company that "EXCELLENT" AND "RELIABLE".
SUTINDO will be more blessed by God and bless Indonesia.
Finally, I'm asking all the employees wherever located, make this President Letter as a guide in conducting business in the next business calendar.
